Ah, it really seems like Autumn is truly here. This time of year, my thoughts always return to when my children were very small, and this was on TV on the fabulous and , quite frankly at times, life-saving CBeebies channel. Every time it came on, we would jump up together and dance wildly to it. The beat is just so good! I managed to find a YouTube clip of it, and all the memories of that year came flooding back. It really sums up all that we love about Autumn – the fun, the harvest, the food, and the gratefulness at Nature’s bounty. The inclusion of Keats and the music with the poetry is just such a brilliant pairing.
“1,2,1,2,3,4…Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
Ripe and sun kissed in golden happiness.
Picking and storing,
Whilst summer is snoring,
Autumn has come.
….Brown leaves are falling down, down, down onto the ground.”
But have a look for yourself, why don’t you? I promise it will make you smile. And maybe jump up and dance wildly.
