Well. Here we are then. 100 pleats completed.
There were times when I didn’t think I’d make it to 30, let alone 50 or 100 pleats. There were moments of ennui. Moments of being rather ill, and not feeling like taking photos. Moments of busy family life putting silly fripperies like pleats on the back burner. Moments of feeling like a complete and utter pillock for taking photos of the back of my own head! For crying out loud! Especially when trying to get a Ted or an Elf in the background too.
But more than these moments were those moments of making myself smile, or even chuckle aloud with silly ideas for pleats and posts that amused me. Moments of immense personal pride when I realised I’d met the 1000 view milestone. Moments of camaraderie and inspiration between fellow Pleaters. Moments when I realised that other people; lovely people; people like your own good self, were actually reading what I was putting “out there”.
So – would I do it again?
So, I thought the last pleat should be a bit of a showstopper. A hair equivalent of a firework, if you like.
But , you know, family life. Christmas, family birthdays, other commitments. So. We have the best I can do under the circumstances. As many Stonebridge hair accessories as my hair could carry. And a special helper with “100” sticker duties. It’s a bit silly. And a bit fun.
So, thankyou so much, friends of Experimentsinstyle, (that’s YOU!) for reading along and being here with us. I wouldn’t have got to Day 100 without knowing you were there reading along all the silly trials and tribulations. The pleats that didn’t work. And the ones that did.
Huge thanks also to all the team at Stonebridge Hair, whose idea it was in the first place, and whose encouragement and generosity is amazing. Especially half way through, when it truly seemed that I might give up. Especial shout out to Claire, who must have done an amazing amount of work behind the scenes. You guys are the gold standard of customer service.
The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog. Thanks to everyone who has read, subscribed or liked or commented on my posts. It means a lot to me, so thankyou all. xx Let’s continue the dialogue in 2016!
Here’s an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,100 times in 2015. If it were a cable car, it would take about 18 trips to carry that many people.

Not revealing my 100th day pleat just yet, but Dr Experimentsinstyle has been busy with the holographic stickers and some Stonebridge hair accessories.
Hi there! With only one more day to go, I’m keeping it low key with a claw clamp on a simple pleat.
Hope you had a great day? Catch you tommorow for our last pleat.
We are now 2 days away from the end of our hair challenge – where the lovely folk at Stonebridge Hair challenged us to do a French pleat every day for 100 days and document it in pictures here. So here we are. Feeling quite sad that it’s coming to an end soon, actually!
Today I’ve returned to one of my fave pleats, a messy loose French pleat, using a Stonebridge French pleat comb.
Hello! Well I now have an updated WordPress app on my phone, so we are back to posts a go-go! Today’s pleat was nothing very fancy, just a classic twisted vertical pleat held in place by a very glitzy gold claw clamp. I thought I’d also quickly show a quick pic that I wasn’t able to upload due to aforementioned technical difficulties (probably me doing something wrong!)
So we have a pic of my curled hair ( I wore a quick and easy pleat on Christmas morning during meal prep etc, then had the time to curl it later on all ready for the afternoon’s festivities.) I wasn’t able to share a pic of my curled Christmas hair, so here it is! (I used my Babyliss Curling gadget, I have done a post about this here)
So that’s it for today, as always, thanks so much for reading!
Christmas Day Curls
Hello, today being Boxing Day, I thought I’d have a go at doing a pleat, AND a bun at the top, using the tailends of the pleat. AND I thought I’d add some bling in the form of a leaf earring hooked into the pleat. If you can’t go crazy doing pleats on Boxing Day, then when can you, eh?! Hope you had a lovely Christmas and Boxing Day.
